Sensei “Butch” Torres

Sensei Butch Torres has been practicing Martial Arts for over 30 years.  He started his Martial Arts Training at the age of 12 by studying Shotokan Karate at his Local Community Center in Caguas, Puerto Rico .  He continued his Martial Arts training by studying Tae Kwon Do and earning his Black Belt from the American Tae Kwon Do Association.

While in the U.S. Navy, Sensei Butch was involved in an accident which caused him to suffer extensive injuries to his backand shoulders.  Although doctors informed him his injuries would limit his physical capabilities, Sensei Butch implemented  Martial Arts Training as part of his physical therapy curriculum.  This assisted him and was essential in his full recovery, which in turn allowed him to continue with his passion for the Martial Arts.

As a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, Sensei Butch’s quest to further his Martial Arts Knowledge and training,  lead him to study and practice other forms of Martial Arts and Self Defense Techniques such as:

Shaolin  Kempo, Jeet Kun Do, Tai Chi, Combat Pressure Points, Krav Maga, Haganah, EZ Defense Tactics

In January 2000, Sensei Butch and his family started studying USA Goju under the tutelage of Shihan Chad Love and South Lake Karate Academy.

The Teaching Passion, Sense of Community Worth and  Philosophy displayed by Shihan Chad Love and the curriculum established by South Lake Karate Academy, inspired Sensei Butch Torres and his family to open 4 Towers Martial Arts, and operate under the Licencing of South Lake Karate Academy.

Because 4 Towers Martial Arts is a family owned and operated, Sensei Butch Torres and his Family employ “FAMILY VALUES” at the core of their martial arts curriculum and implement  DISCIPLINE, COURAGE, HONOR & RESPECT as the pillars of their school .

At 4 Towers Martial Arts we believe :

“IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO HELP RAISE A CHILD”

and as active members of our community, we are here and willing to do our part.
